MyMouse collects as little as it can. Here is all of it.

The order form

When you send an order, we store:

  • your name
  • how to contact you (Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, or phone) and your username or number
  • the payment method you chose
  • your note, if you wrote one
  • the page language, and — if you came from the app — the app version

We use these only to contact you about your order and send your licence key. A copy of each order is sent to our Telegram so we can reply quickly. We never sell or share them.

To stop spam, we keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your network address, which is deleted automatically within a day. Your actual address is never stored.

How long we keep orders

We keep order details for two years after you place an order, so we can help with payment, licence key and support questions. After that they are deleted automatically. Your licence is recorded separately and keeps working. You can ask us to delete your order details sooner at any time.

The MyMouse app

The app contacts our licence server to start your trial and check your licence. It sends:

  • an anonymous device identifier, made by scrambling your Mac's hardware ID so it can't be turned back into it
  • the app's identifier and version
  • your macOS version
  • when you activate a licence: your Mac's name and model, and the licence key

It never sends your touches, gestures, keystrokes, files, or anything about what you do on your Mac. Update checks download the update feed and send nothing about you. If the licence server can't be reached, the app opens Apple's and Google's standard connection-check pages to tell whether your Mac is offline; nothing about you is sent.

Your download has started

While MyMouse downloads, here's how to install it. It takes about two minutes, and you only do it once — updates install themselves.

  1. Drag MyMouse to Applications

Open MyMouse-latest.dmg from your Downloads folder, then drag the MyMouse icon onto the Applications folder.

  2. Allow MyMouse to open

Open Terminal (press ⌘ Space, type Terminal, press Return), paste this command, and press Return:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MyMouse.app

What it does: macOS marks every app downloaded from the internet as "quarantined" and asks before its first launch. This command removes that mark from MyMouse only. It doesn't change any other app or security setting, needs no password, and downloads nothing.

⚠︎ Only paste Terminal commands from sources you trust, and know what they do first.

    Or, without Terminal:

Open MyMouse from Applications and click Done when macOS says it can't verify the developer. Then open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to MyMouse.

  3. Open MyMouse and give it two permissions

Open MyMouse from Applications. In the Permissions window, click Open System Settings next to Accessibility and turn MyMouse on, then do the same next to Input Monitoring. Click Restart MyMouse — tap to click works straight away.
