Bring the magic to your Magic Mouse.

MyMouse turns the touch surface of your Magic Mouse into trackpad-style taps and gestures — lighter to use, silent, and far more useful.

Version 0.2.9 · macOS 14 or later · 14-day free trial · Install

Your Magic Mouse can do far more

Out of the box

  • The whole top is touch-sensitive, yet macOS only uses it to scroll and swipe.
  • Every left or right click means pressing down on the front of the shell — more force than most mice need.
  • Each press makes an audible click, which gets in the way when you want to work quietly.
  • Easy gestures like a two-finger tap do nothing at all.

With MyMouse

  • Tap to click, like a laptop trackpad: a light touch of a fingertip, no pressing and no click sound.
  • Touch the front-right area of the mouse to right-click.
  • Tap with two fingers to show App Exposé — or set it to Mission Control, or anything you like.
  • Rest your fingers the way you normally hold the mouse. MyMouse ignores them, so you never change your grip.

MyMouse fixes all of this, and makes the touch surface you already paid for genuinely useful.

What MyMouse asks for, and why

  • Accessibility — to send clicks, scrolls, and shortcuts on your behalf.
  • Input Monitoring — to read touches on the Magic Mouse surface.
  • The only thing it sends over the internet is licence-check data. No analytics, no tracking.

Your download has started

While MyMouse downloads, here's how to install it. It takes about two minutes, and you only do it once — updates install themselves.

  1. Drag MyMouse to Applications

Open MyMouse-latest.dmg from your Downloads folder, then drag the MyMouse icon onto the Applications folder.

  2. Allow MyMouse to open

Open Terminal (press ⌘ Space, type Terminal, press Return), paste this command, and press Return:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MyMouse.app

What it does: macOS marks every app downloaded from the internet as "quarantined" and asks before its first launch. This command removes that mark from MyMouse only. It doesn't change any other app or security setting, needs no password, and downloads nothing.

⚠︎ Only paste Terminal commands from sources you trust, and know what they do first.

    Or, without Terminal:

Open MyMouse from Applications and click Done when macOS says it can't verify the developer. Then open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to MyMouse.

  3. Open MyMouse and give it two permissions

Open MyMouse from Applications. In the Permissions window, click Open System Settings next to Accessibility and turn MyMouse on, then do the same next to Input Monitoring. Click Restart MyMouse — tap to click works straight away.
